How to get more Google reviews as a tradesman, without remembering to ask

Your customers are happy. Most will never go looking for your Google listing on their own. The tradesmen with a long row of five star reviews simply ask every customer.

DRSaaS sends the review request for you, a few hours after each invoice. Free to start, no card.

Why the reviews matter

When somebody types a trade and a town into Google, the map at the top is where the phone calls come from. Google says reviews are part of how it ranks local businesses on that map. So more reviews, and a good score, help you show up higher than the firm down the road.

Reviews also do the selling once you are found. A homeowner choosing between three names will read the reviews before they read anything else. Recent ones count for more, because they show you are still trading and still careful.

Why most happy customers never leave one

What Google allows

Asking is fine. Google expects businesses to invite reviews from their customers. Two things are not allowed, and both can get reviews removed or a listing flagged.

So the honest way to more reviews is also the simple way. Ask every customer, soon after the job, with one direct link.

How DRSaaS asks for you

You paste your Google review link into the app once. From then on, every invoice you send starts a short clock. A few hours later your customer gets one email in your business name, asking how it went and carrying your review link. Replies come to you. Nothing else is in the message, so it reads like a person and not a mailing list.

Same day beats next week. The ask lands while the job is still fresh in their mind.

Each job asks once. A customer who comes back for more work is asked again on the new job. DRSaaS watches your Google reviews and offers you a match when a new one appears. Once you confirm a customer has left a review, they are not asked again. Nothing is guessed.

For electricians the same ask also follows a delivered certificate, so an EICR for a landlord earns its review the same way a repair does.

Part of the whole job, not another app

A review tool on its own needs feeding. You would have to tell it who you worked for and when. DRSaaS already knows, because the customer, the quote, the job and the invoice are all in it. That is why the ask can go by itself. DRSaaS is the everything app for trades and home businesses, and the review request is simply the last step of a job you already ran in it.

The step before it is the price. There is more on that on the quote app for tradesmen page, and the invoice that starts the review clock is on the invoice app page.

Questions

Is it allowed to ask customers for a Google review?

Yes. Google lets a business ask its customers for reviews. What it does not allow is paying or rewarding people for a review, or asking only the customers you expect to be happy.

When does DRSaaS ask for the review?

A few hours after you send the invoice, or after an electrician's certificate is delivered. The ask is one email in your business name with your Google review link in it and nothing else, and replies come to you.

Will a customer be asked again and again?

One job gets one ask. A customer who comes back for another job is asked again on the new job. Once you confirm they have left a review, they are not asked again.
